our client maintains a dominant position in retail, commercial and corporate
banking, financial markets, wealth management services and investment banking.
An excellent opportunity
now exists for a motivated finance professional to join the Group Finance
team in a role focussing on research and the provision of advice relating
to the Group's accounting policies and procedures. In addition to involvement
in a varying number of ongoing projects such as the implementation of International
Financial Reporting Standards your specific responsibilities will include,
but not be limited to, providing advice in relation to new products and structured
transactions, supporting the preparation of the Group's US GAAP disclosures
and assisting the external reporting cycle.
Ideally you will be CA/CPA
qualified and have at least 2 years post qualification experience gained within
the finance or audit area of a bank or the banking audit division of a major
chartered accounting firm. Furthermore, it is hoped that you will have completed,
be currently undertaking, or contemplating post-graduate studies such as a
Masters Degree in Finance or Graduate Diploma with the Securities Institute
of Australia. As the role will involve liaison at all levels both within and
outside the bank you must possess first rate written and verbal communication
skills. Whilst not essential, it would be seen as a distinct advantage if
you had some exposure to US GAAP reporting and other international accounting
